Better together: whole-home + reverse osmosis
Common questions
They do different jobs. A whole-home system softens your water and removes chlorine for the entire house. Reverse osmosis goes further at the kitchen sink, removing dissolved solids, heavy metals, and other contaminants a whole-home system isn’t designed to catch. If you want the best possible drinking water, the two work great together.
Yes. Reverse osmosis is one of the most effective ways to reduce lead and other heavy metals in drinking water, along with dissolved solids and leftover chlorine.
It does remove most minerals along with everything else. That’s why our Tankless Alkaline RO has an alkaline filter built in that adds healthy minerals like calcium and magnesium back, giving the water a smooth, clean taste. For our 5-Stage Tank RO, you can add the same benefit with our alkaline filter add-on.
Under your kitchen sink, with its own drinking water faucet mounted on the sink or countertop. Installation is free, and most installs take [about one to two hours].
Most pre-filters are changed about 6, and the RO membrane lasts two to three years depending on your water and how much you use. We’ll let you know when it’s time, and replacement filters are listed on our Pricing page.
In most homes, yes. Ask us when you schedule, and we’ll let you know if your kitchen layout works for it.
Not for a drinking water system in most cases. If you’re on city water, we can usually help you choose over the phone. If you’re on a well, we’ll test your water for free first.
